Our Techniques

There are many different techniques used to adjust a patient.  All techniques used in this practice are safe, gentle and effective.  After studying your posture, EMG scan, computerised foot scans and x-rays , we will use an adjusting technique suitable for your individual needs.

The major techniques we use include:

Chiropractic Bio-Physics

Chiropractic Bio-Physics can be best characterized as full spine and pelvis corrective procedures having a firm foundation in the sciences of biomechanics and physics.  CBP Technique integrates drop table, diversified, toggle and instrument adjustments to correct subluxations by restoring normal spinal mechanics.

Activator

The Activator Method is an evaluation method and a handheld adjusting instrument that delivers a consistent low-force thrust.

Diversified

This technique uses a specific manual thrust usually by hand to return spinal bones to their normal position.

If you have been to a chiropractor before and have a preference about how you are adjusted, please let us know.

Thompson Technique

One of the main Chiropractic Adjusting Techniques we use at Asquith Family Chiropractors is the Thompson Technique.  The technique which was developed by J. Clay Thompson has evolved into a system of Analysis and a way of adjusting the full spine.  The combination produces precise adjustments and high levels of comfort.

Analysis: Early chiropractors noticed that subluxations would produce the appearance of a shortened, or contracted leg.  Using a protocol of comparing leg lengths while the patient turned their head helped determine at what level of the spine nerve interference was occurring. What you will notice is the specially designed “drop” table.  Individual cushions or “drop pieces” located along the table surface, support each area of the spine until the thrust is given.
Then each drop-piece gently gives way reducing the pressure needed to make the adjustment.  So unique is this approach Dr Thompson was granted a patent in 1955. Since then, because of its precision and excellent results, it is a technique that is used world wide.

Postural Assessment

Posture is the window to the spine. By looking at your posture on the outside, it gives us vital information about your spine on the inside. We correlate this to your bi-lateral weight assessment.
